Next I opened the texture carpet picture and selected the green channel and layered it on top of the other image. The texture layer was also reduced to 28%. Last I added text using the horizontal type mask tool and added a drop shadow, bevel and emboss.

Week Two: Landscape

I really enjoyed these pictures. I didn't find it too hard to meter, unless I did something wrong, but I think they look good. I tried to get a variety of landscape and things you find in the environment around us. I also tried to capture some nice sunlight. I tried to get a variety in texture and macro/wide and shallow/deep depth of field.

Week One: Study of Color

Study of Red

These pictures were taken with a digital SLR with a 18-55mm and a 55-250mm lens. Using the zoom for macro, the long lens for shallow depth, and the short lens for deep focus. For the flower image the focus was a little off and there was a little movement from being hand held giving it a painting look.

Week One: Cutouts

Cutout

This picture was taken with a digital SLR, winter semester by the railroad tracks past the temple. To make the cutout I used the quick selection tool and some feathering to smooth the edges. Then cutout was placed on a new white canvas.
